HuntThatProperty operates on a strict dispatch model. Because we pay independent, licensed professionals for their time and transit, our refund policies are structured to be fair to both the buyer and the ground teams.
1. Cancellations Before Dispatch
If you request a Verification (Tier 1 or Tier 2) and decide to cancel before our Admin team begins the Ministry Registry search or dispatches a surveyor to the field, you are entitled to a full refund.
- A standard mobile money or payment gateway processing fee (typically 3-5%) may be deducted by the payment provider.
2. The "Successful Failure" (No Refund)
The core purpose of HuntThatProperty is to uncover fraud. Therefore, the service is considered 100% rendered and successful if our investigation reveals that a property is fake, double-titled, or encumbered.
- If a Tier 1 (Desk Search) reveals the title does not exist in the UgNLIS, the UGX 50,000 fee is fully earned for saving the buyer from a fraudulent transaction. No refund will be issued.
3. The "Dry Run" Policy (Tier 2 Ground Truth)
Field investigations (Tier 2) require significant logistics. If a surveyor is dispatched to the physical coordinates but cannot complete the mapping due to factors outside of HuntThatProperty's control, a Dry Run Fee of UGX 50,000 will be deducted to compensate the surveyor for fuel and time.
A "Dry Run" occurs when:
- The seller's phone is switched off or unreachable upon arrival.
- The seller or local authorities (e.g., LC1) physically deny access to the land.
- The physical location does not exist or the buyer provided entirely inaccurate coordinates.
In these events, the remaining UGX 100,000 of your Tier 2 payment will be refunded to your original payment method.
4. Surveyor Match Services
When you use the "Find a Surveyor" tool to hire a professional for boundary opening, valuation, or topographic mapping, any financial agreements, deposits, or refunds negotiated are strictly between you and the independent professional. HuntThatProperty is not a party to those external contracts and cannot issue refunds for third-party services.
5. Processing Timelines
Approved refunds are processed back to the original mobile money number or bank account within 5 to 7 business days. Delays caused by telecom networks (MTN/Airtel) are outside of our direct control.
